About

Known for his cinematic depiction of environment and natural phenomena, Luke Alexander is a Melbourne–based visual artist working predominantly in photography and moving image.

Particularly interested in the natural environment and the Australian landscape, Alexander’s practice explores the interconnectivities between culture and nature. His work focuses on revealing layers of emotional and aesthetic resonance in our relation to place.

Considering notions of nature-culture dichotomy and individual identity, Alexander invites a refocus of perceptions on how we experience, perceive, and relate to the natural world.
